Headquartered in the Washington D.C. suburb of Herndon, Virginia, Paragon's technical and management staff has provided permanent on-site systems and full-service logistics support at several defense facilities in the continental U.S. (CONUS) and worldwide (OCONUS). Other offices are located in Suffolk, VA.

Gary T. Newgaard, President


Gary T. Newgaard is the President of Paragon Systems, LLC, a provider of information technology solutions, engineering services, and personnel to the DoD/Intelligence community and Civilian agencies.  A small business based in Herndon, VA, Paragon received an award from Sun Technologies in mid-2005 for being among the top 10 providers of hardware to the Federal Government over the previous year.  Newgaard is a member of the Sun Microsystems National VAR Council and Government VAR Council, as well as the Arrow Electronics MOCA Division VAR Council.

Prior to Paragon, Gary Newgaard founded IES with several business partners.  IES is a reseller focused on the Federal market with key manufacturers such as Marconi Communications, Extreme, Network Appliance, Enterisys, RLX Technologies, and Fortress Technologies.  IES experienced significant growth during its initial three years in business, and is now ranked in the top 70 GSA Schedule holders for sales.

Newgaard was employed in various capacities by Compaq Computer Corporation, beginning in 1986.  He was promoted to Vice President, Federal Subsidiary, in November of 1998, and was responsible for delivering Compaq technology to the Federal market segment at all levels of integration.  Prior to this appointment, Newgaard served as Compaq’s Director of Federal Sales and Marketing.  In 1998 and 1996, Newgaard was named one of Federal Computer Week’s “Fed 100” influential individuals within the Federal IT community.  He is an active member of the government IT Industry Advisory Council.

Newgaard earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1980 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
